It means you can be almost bust and an incredible change can happen and you can come back and win. The game is extremely volotile and a player who never gives up has a chance!
Well, Not really, if he says 'when luck shuts the door you have to come in through the window' I think he means that if you're on a draw and it misses, you can still steal the pot using your bluffing skills. Because burglars come in through the window as well. In other words - "When luck shuts the door, you gotta come through the window..... thats when the skill comes in."

The final table is set for the November Nine. Phil Ivey has won two WSOP bracelets this year making a total of 7. He now sits 9,765,000 in chips in the Main Event going into November.
Nomatter how well you prepare for poker and no matter how talented you are.. even phil ivey can't ensure to dodge the 3 outer to make his hand stand up frusturating for many people but at least we got to see a few pro's at the final table this time in taking some consolation phil ivey has finally secured his final table spot after so many years
ivey is a smart player more then anybody else left in the event as long as he keeps the chip count above average he could push anybody out of the event...anybody else would win by luck...we all know ivey is the man. As long as he doesn't keep mucking the best hands, he should do fine.

If you're up against someone that moves all in with A,Q or KQ.. lucky you! But if you are short and want to put someone els out of the hand, I would have picked a better spot than just that kind of hand. Any pair before the K,Q/A,Q.
I can't believe that there is so many that calls all in just with A,K. They have to count on that they're up against a pair, and that only gives them a coin flip. Is it worth the risk? Doubt that..

November 04, 2009 Ok, look, when you got to day 8 out of thousands of people, you obviously have skill above average. Now, yes, he blew up, he self-destructed, say what you want about how horrible that was, you simply cannot judge a player based on that alone.
