Daniel Negreanu explains to the table that a raise from 300 to 5000 is not the way the game should be played. Dan's point - It is dumb to bet 10 times the size of the pot when the pot is small. A smart bet is between half the size of the pot and the total size of the pot. To risk $5,000 to win a $500 pot is idiotic. It's like paying $100 for a loaf of bread. It's also like putting $10 in a slot machine when the jackpot is only $1.
In other words - The point is you're not going to coinflip with AK, because they are only going to call a HUGE overbet like that if they have you crushed. Basically you're risking 5,000 to win 300 and in the case where you get called you are going to be very, very, very far behind. You dumb fuck, learn to play n00b.

Daniel is my favourite poker player. I hope he can win some more bracelets the WSOP 2010. Good luck. "pot limit hold'em omaha"?

Read more... Waiting for monster hands will leave you broke by the blinds. Straight-flushes, full houses and quads alike don't usually make much money because people are afraid of nut flushes and trips beating their over pairs.
Making money online involves a combination of dodging bullets, making bluffs and betting your good hands just enough to be called. If you only play your best hands out fully and are called every time, your opponents are donks and you won't be making much money at micros anyways.
